I wanted a casual outfit for events, and had always wanted to make a Hobbity design. I found the fabrics I'd bought more than a year ago for such a purpose, and then decided that what this outfit really needed was cartridge pleats, which I'd never done before. What do you know - I was right. I love the effect!

Peach cotton chemise with lace detail; orange and white poly/cotton/wool mix bouclé skirt, cartridge pleated from 140" down to 31";  brown cotton corset vest with spring steel boning and a floral lining of cotton duck for strength.
